Things to Come is a large-scale installation by Aleksandra Domanović continuously evolving. The work investigates how women have been represented in popular science fiction, a genre long dominated by male protagonists and technological fantasies. Domanović reconfigures tropes of cinematic and literary sci-fi to foreground female presences, highlighting both absence and agency. By appropriating and reframing visual languages from film and mass culture, she interrogates the role of gender in shaping speculative imaginaries. Things to Come situates itself at the intersection of feminist critique and science fiction aesthetics, asking what futures become possible when women occupy the centre of speculative narratives.
