Previous work has been presented by Somerset House, Castello Di Rivoli, Serpentine Galleries and her first major solo show opened at South London Gallery in 2020.
Half Life is an erotic science fiction novel centred on Pearl, a scientist who develops an infatuation with radioactive waste. Cundale intertwines nuclear matter with desire, self-poisoning, and addiction, presenting toxic substances as objects of both fear and attraction. The narrative explores how intimacy with nuclear energy destabilises distinctions between eros and contamination. By linking sensual appetites to radioactive material, Half Life stages a reference for human entanglement with destructive technologies. Desire becomes inseparable from toxicity, reflecting on the paradoxical pull of substances that can both allure and annihilate.
Half Life, 2025, sound installation of chapters 1 - 4, read by Bryony Miller.
